Tow Truck Pursuit from Los Angeles to San Diego

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2-2-25 3:25 am
LOCATION: Market St exit from SB I-805
AREA/CITY: Echo Park (LA) to Mt. Hope (SD)
DETAILS:

 

1. The Tow truck driver from L.A. Tow was making an AAA call to change a flat tire in Echo Park.
2. The male suspect got into the Tow truck and fled with the truck.
3. The tow employee was able to track the tow truck, and the suspect drove from Echo Park to Beverly Hills to Santa Monica before heading south with the CHP in pursuit.
4. The CHP spiked the tow truck twice during the pursuit.
5. The suspect finally came to a stop at the Market Street exit on the southbound I-805.
6. Both front wheels were gone on the tow truck.
7. The suspect surrendered peacefully.
8. This started right after midnight.
