Three Shot At Senior Living Building In Los Angeles

Three people were hospitalized Sunday after a shooting at a senior living building in Los Angeles, leaving one victim critically injured as residents were ordered to shelter in place.

The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. on September 21, 2026, near Denver Avenue and 70th Street.

According to preliminary information, the suspected shooter works as a maintenance worker inside the senior living building. Three people were shot, including one victim who was shot in the face and was reported to be in critical condition.

All three victims were transported to hospitals. The conditions of the other two victims were not immediately available.

Initial reports indicated the shooter may have fired from the sixth floor of the building. Officers could be seen positioned near the top of the structure as the Los Angeles Police Department investigated.

Residents who remained inside the senior living building were instructed to shelter in place. Residents who were outside were told they would have to wait until LAPD concluded its investigation before being allowed to return.
