- Around 8:45 a three vehicle collision was reported to Placentia FIre Rescue and Police Department at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Melrose St in the city of Placentia.
- Arriving units found multiple patients ejected from a passenger van including a small female child, aged 10, who was declared deceased at Children’s Hospital Orange County ( C.H.O.C. ).
- Two parties, male and female adults, were declared deceased on scene.
- Another seven were transported in unknown conditions to a local trauma center.
- The cause of the crash is under investigation by both the Placentia Police Department and Fire Rescue.
- The area will be closed for the next few hours.
- The van was returning from a bible study at a church located at 320 S Walnut Avenue in Placentia.
- The male driver of the black Honda Accord was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence (shown on video sitting on curb ).
