10.16.2021 | 12:16 AM | VENTURA – Ventura County allied fire agencies responded to wind-driven brush fire in the Santa Clara River bottom off Johnson Drive next to the northbound 101 Freeway.

The wind caused a heavy ember cast that started multiple spot fires as well threatened a nearby pumpkin patch with horses.

A copter from the Ventura County Air Unit made several drops which stopped forward progress of the fire.

The fire was contained at three acres and took approximately two hours to knock down.

The cause is unknown at this time.
