Thieves Steal Several Fire Hydrants In LA County

DETAILS:
- LA County Sheriff deputies along with LA County FD firefighters received calls for multiple sheared fire hydrants in a commercial area northeast of Alondra Blvd & Bloomfield Avenue shortly before 11:00 PM
- At least four different fire hydrants were taken out, spanning from 12640 Alondra Blvd to 15519 Blackburn Avenue and 12840 Leyva Street
- Two males were seen fleeing southbound on Shoemaker Avenue in a brown Honda CRV. It is believed the suspects intentionally ran over each fire hydrant before lifting them into the vehicle
- Fire hydrant thefts are rather uncommon, though they supposedly hold high scrap metal dollar value
- Firefighters were able to shut off all but one hydrant, with the last one having to be shut off by the city
