Officers responded to a crash after a Tesla rear-ended a Nissan at a high rate of speed.

The Nissan caught on fire, and both the driver and a passenger of the Nissan were pronounced deceased at the scene as they were stuck in the vehicle during the fire.

The Tesla hit barriers on both sides of the freeway before coming to a stop.

The passenger of the Tesla was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

The driver of the Tesla was not taken to the hospital but is being investigated for possible charges.
