Tesla Destroyed by Rouge Semi Truck Tire

DETAILS:
- Riverside Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, Riverside office responded to a reported traffic collision on the freeway.
- When units arrived at the scene, they found a white Tesla with major front-end damage, its airbags deployed, and a driver who was very shaken.
- According to witnesses and the driver, a semi traveled northbound on the 215 before the 215/60 interchange when it lost a tire.
- The tire was traveling at a high rate of speed and bounced over the center divider into oncoming traffic, traveling southbound and slammed into a Tesla.
- The Tesla swerved off the road and came to rest with major front-end damage.
- AMR treated The driver at the scene; she was very shaken but only suffered minor injuries.
- CHP was still trying to find the tire, but it was unsure where it had gone after it had slammed into the car.
- The Semi kept traveling on the freeway, and CHP units were making contact with at least two semis that were several miles from the scene and pulled to the side of the road.
- According to CHP, this could have easily been a fatal collision.
