Teenager Shot and Killed in Moreno Valley

On August 15, 2025, homicide investigators identified the victim in this case as 19-year-old Angelo Leivas, a resident of Banning. During the investigation, they determined that the driver of the vehicle was the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jacob Necochea, also a resident of Banning. Necochea was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for murder.

This investigation is still ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.

PRESS RELEASE

According To Riverside County Sheriff’s PIO, Lt. Diedre Vickers, At 4:06 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 13000 block of Day Street regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located evidence of a shooting and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

Deputies obtained a description of the suspect’s vehicle and searched the area. Deputies later located the vehicle in the 25000 block of Sunnymead Boulevard, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit was requested to assume the investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
