Teenage Shoots Inside Apartment Causing Mother to Jump Out 2nd Story Window

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-9-25 / Around 8:24 pm
LOCATION: 6555 Harbor Town Dr
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

1. HPD units were dispatched to a shooting in progress.
2. Arriving officers located an adult female laying on the ground.
3. She had jumped from the second floor balcony cause a 17 year old male was shooting inside.
4. Officer’s went to the door and when they knocked. The male fired at officer’s. A 9 year veteran officer returned fire.
5. The officer’s then retreated from the door and a perimeter was established.
6. HFD brought a ladder and two females were rescued from the second floor window.
7. One is an adult and the other is a juvenile.
8. SWAT was called.
9. SWAT units were able to talk to the suspect and he gave himself up.
10. He was transported by ambulance and treated for a cut he had to the hand.
11. The female who jumped from the balcony is the mother of the two females.
12. She was also transported by ambulance for injuries she sustained do to the jump.
13. No other injuries were reported.
14. At this time it is not known why the juvenile male opened fired in the apartment.
