Teenage Driver Kills Passenger in Crash in Houston

12.10.2020 | 9:56 PM | HOUSTON – A young man in his 20s was killed and a 15 year old girl sustained major injuries after a crash Thursday night.

Houston FD and PD responded to the 900 Block of W Tidwell Rd. shortly before 10 PM regarding a solo vehicle crash.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on Tidwell Rd when the driver lost control. The vehicle went up the center median before crashing into a tree.

The front seat passenger a young male in his early 20’s or possible a teenager was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The 15 year old female driver was transported by ambulance with fairly severe injuries but will survive.

It is not known why the driver lost control of the vehicle but speed appears to be a factor.

Potential marijuana and other intoxicants may have played a roll in the crash as well.

It is not know if the driver was legally driving. Authorities will also look into who the vehicle belongs to and how she obtained a vehicle.
