Sylmar: Vehicle Strikes Wheelchair, Kills Man Riding It

08.11.2020 | 9:51 PM | LOS ANGELES – A vehicle struck and killed a man in a wheelchair, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the 13900 block of Astoria Street in the Sylmar area around 9:51 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male pedestrian who had been ejected from a wheelchair he was in after being struck by a silver Ford F-250 pickup truck.

Firefighters paramedics attempted to revive the downed man but pronounced him deceased on scene.

The driver of the pickup that struck the man remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
