Sylmar: Teen Seriously After Crashing Into Riverbed

08.18.2019 | 8:26 PM | LOS ANGELES – A teenager was seriously injured after crashing into a riverbed, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle that lost control because crashing through a fence and into a riverbed in the 12300 block of San Fernando Road in Sylmar around 8:26 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found a vehicle at the bottom of a riverbed with a teenage male injured.

Firefighters used a fire truck to lower a stokes basket down into the riverbed to rescue the teenage boy before transporting him to an area hospital.

A heavy rescue wrecker was utilized to remove the vehicle from the riverbed.
