Sylmar: Firefighters Extinguish Big Rig Fire

11.22.2019 | 2:40 PM | LOS ANGELES – A big rig that caught fire and became fully engulfed on a busy freeway was extinguished, Friday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound I-5 Freeway near the SR-14 Freeway in the Sylmar area around 2:40 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a big rig engulfed in heavy fire and began efforts to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
