Sylmar: Crash Into Tractor Trailer Kills One, Critically Injures Another

12.22.2018 | 11:31 AM | SYLMAR – One person was dead and another critically injured after a sedan slammed into a tractor trailer, Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported crash involving a sedan and a tractor trailer in the 15800 block of Rexford Street shortly after 11:30 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a sedan that was lodged in the rear of a tractor trailer.

The driver of the vehicle suffered critical injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle before being transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle’s passenger was killed by the impact of the crash and pronounced deceased on scene.

Nobody inside the tractor trailer was injured.

Police cordoned off the area while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
