Sylmar: Big Rig Fire Slows Traffic

08.12.2019 | 7:07 PM | LOS ANGELES – A big rig that caught fire brought traffic to a crawl, Monday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the northbound I-5 Freeway near the SR-14 Freeway in the Sylmar area around 7:07 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a big rig with heavy smoke and fire coming from the cab of the truck.

Crews quickly extinguished the flames, however passing traffic came to a crawl as passerbys watched the spectacle.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
