A pickup truck was traveling southbound on Sweetwater when it struck two pedestrians on bicycles who were in the middle of the roadway.

One cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second cyclist was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Factors such as intoxication are still being investigated, but the roadway is dark.
