Swatting Call Triggers Major Police Response at Disneyland
At approximately 9:45pm on March 11th, 2026, Anaheim Police Department officers responded to Disneyland Park at 1313 Disneyland Drive after receiving reports of a possible mass shooting and bomb threat.
Authorities quickly deployed a large police response to the theme park to investigate the call. Video from the scene showed more than a dozen Anaheim Police Department patrol vehicles staged on Disneyland property.
According to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter, the incident was determined to be a swatting call and the threats were unfounded. Officers determined the threat was not credible and cleared the situation within approximately 45 minutes.
Officials noted the response came during a period of heightened alert for California law enforcement following federal warnings about potential threats to the West Coast.
Police stated swatting — falsely reporting a serious emergency to trigger a law enforcement response — is illegal and can lead to both state and federal criminal charges.
The investigation remained ongoing as authorities worked to determine who made the false call.
