SWAT Responds to Son Pointing Gun at Mom on Mothers Day
On May 10, 2026, deputies responded to a family disturbance call on Stevenage Lane in Houston after a woman reported her adult son had allegedly pointed a gun at her head earlier in the day.
Authorities say the woman had been locked out of the home and contacted 911. Investigators later obtained an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge through the District Attorney’s Office.
Deputies and crisis negotiators attempted to communicate with the armed suspect for several hours, but he reportedly refused all contact with law enforcement.
SWAT teams were activated later in the evening and deployed drones, OC gas, and distraction devices in an effort to safely resolve the situation.
According to investigators, the suspect pointed a firearm at police drones during the standoff.
After breaching the front door, SWAT officers took the suspect into custody without injury. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Authorities said the suspect did not have a known criminal history.
