DETAILS:

1. HPD Midwest Officers responded to reports of a domestic
2. Arriving officers located a female who was assaulted by her boyfriend
3. during their investigation, officers learned the male had retreated into his apartment and had discharged a firearm during the altercation
4. Due to an abundance of caution, HPD SWAT was requested
5. The male surrendered to officers without incident at Midnight
