SWAT Rescues Woman Held Inside Houston Hotel

At approximately 3:45 p.m. on June 24, 2026, Houston Police officers responded to a hotel in the 13100 block of Cityscape Avenue after receiving reports that a woman was being held against her will inside a room.

According to investigators, the woman was able to text a relative, stating that her boyfriend was preventing her from leaving. The relative then contacted authorities.

When officers arrived, no one initially answered the hotel room door. Police eventually established communication with the woman through her relative, but the man inside refused to cooperate and would not confirm whether she was safe.

Houston Police SWAT responded and established a perimeter around the hotel.

After attempts to resolve the situation peacefully were unsuccessful, SWAT officers used a breaching charge to force entry into the room, along with flashbang distraction devices.

The male suspect was taken into custody without further incident, and the woman was safely rescued.

Authorities said no weapons were found, and no injuries were reported.

According to police, the suspect was experiencing what appeared to be a psychotic episode. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of unlawful restraint.

Investigators also said the couple has a history of domestic violence, including a previous SWAT incident in which the suspect allegedly barricaded himself inside a residence and set it on fire before officers were able to take him into custody.

The investigation remains ongoing.
