SWAT Involved In Shootout With Suspect From Deputy Involved Shooting | Houston

06.20.2021 | 5:40 PM | HOUSTON – HPD SWAT was involved in a shootout with the suspect from this mornings Deputy Involved Shooting.

According to Chief Finner, the suspects family came forward to officers and notified them who the suspect was and that he had a mental illness.

Officers began tracking the suspect.The suspect opened fire on officers at least 2 times prior to crashing into a tree on W Greens & Greens Pkwy.

The suspect began shooting at SWAT again forcing officers to open fire. The suspect was struck several times by officers gunfire.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic approximately 27-years-old. He is currently in surgery for his wounds and is listed in critical condition

HPD Chief Finner confirms this is the suspect that entered the precinct 1 deputies home and opened fire this morning.

There may be a relationship between the suspect and the deputy however it is unconfirmed. The officers involved in the shooting were wearing body cams and that will be released.
