SWAT Ends Barricade Incident, NATIONAL CITY

DETAILS:

 

  1. Family members called 911 to say that a male family member was in medical distress after 2 days of being on illegal narcotics.
  2. Firefighters and Paramedics arrived to find the male being extremely violent towards them and the family members.
  3. The First Responders backed away, and the Police were called.
  4. The male suspect would not cooperate with the Police, and after several hours, the SWAT Team was called in.
  5. After another few hours, SWAT deployed flash-bang grenades and fireworks.
  6. Officers entered the home but could not find the suspect, but knew he was somewhere inside.
  7. They announced that they were going to use tear gas and approached the house.
  8. The suspect attempted to exit through the rear of the house and was detained.
  9. The suspect was naked at this time.
  10. The strange thing was that in the beginning, the Chief of Police, Alex Hernandez, a Captain, 2 Lieutenants, 3 Sergeants, and up to a dozen officers were at the scene.
  11. The incident took over 6.5 hours to resolve.
