SUV Flies Off Highway 18 And Crashes Into Lake Arrowhead Building

A woman and young boy escaped serious injury after their SUV went off Highway 18, traveled down an embankment, crossed a parallel roadway and overturned into a building Tuesday afternoon in Lake Arrowhead.
The crash was reported around 3:15 p.m. on September 29, 2026, near Highway 18 and Pine Avenue at Lake Arrowhead Rentals. First responders were dispatched to reports of a vehicle over the side and into a building with occupants trapped inside.

Firefighters arrived to find a large SUV overturned against the building with an older woman and a young boy trapped inside.

Crews attached a tow strap to the SUV and pulled it away from the building to create enough space to safely reach the occupants. Firefighters then broke through the rear windshield and extricated both occupants.
The woman suffered what appeared to be minor injuries, while the boy, who appeared to be under 13 years old, was reportedly unharmed.

The circumstances that caused the SUV to leave Highway 18 were not immediately available.
San Bernardino County firefighters and CHP’s Arrowhead Area responded to the scene. No additional information was immediately available.
