SUV Crashes Under Semi On 10 Freeway In Bloomington
At approximately 12:11 a.m. on May 18, 2026, emergency crews responded to a major traffic collision on the eastbound 10 Freeway east of Sierra Avenue in Bloomington.
Responding units located a jackknifed semi truck with an SUV lodged underneath the trailer.
The impact tore the roof off the SUV, and the driver was transported to a trauma center with CPR in progress.
The semi truck driver remained at the scene and declined medical treatment.
A heavy-duty tow truck was requested after the semi came to rest partially over a K-rail barrier.
Authorities reopened one lane of traffic approximately an hour after the crash while crews continued recovery operations and the investigation.
According to radio traffic, the injured driver was reportedly undergoing surgery, and officers transported a large amount of cash recovered from the scene to a CHP office.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
