Suspicious Intense Vehicle Fire at San Diego International Airport
1.10.2021 | 2:45 AM | SAN DIEGO – A stubborn truck fire burned for nearly 30 minutes in a tight area of an airport parking structure that kept fire trucks from driving in to.
SDFD responded to a fire in the Terminal 2 parking structure around 2:45 AM and found a large truck on fire on the ground level. The fire was also beginning to burn up the wall of the structure.
A 1st Alarm was called for more units to respond and access was difficult as the trucks could not drive inside and the hose runs were at their limit.
The fire burned intensely and it took nearly 30 minutes to put out the fire.
Gasoline kept spreading to other vehicles as it flowed on top of the water.
The MAST team has been called out to investigate the fire as it is suspicious in nature.
No one was injured in the fire. The truck was destroyed, burning completely down to its metal frame.
