Suspected Street Racing Leads to Fiery Crash in Fontana

At approximately 10:44pm on March 7th, 2026, San Bernardino County Fire crews, Fontana Police Department officers, and AMR paramedics responded to a traffic collision with fire near Cherry Avenue and the 10 Freeway in Fontana.

Upon arrival, crews located a multi-vehicle crash involving at least three vehicles, with one of the vehicles engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire while paramedics treated the injured.

A total of four victims, including a small child, were transported to local hospitals with injuries that were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities indicated the crash may have been related to suspected street racing. It was also reported that one person fled from the suspect vehicle following the collision. It was not immediately known if that individual was located.

The investigation remained ongoing.
