Suspected Pipe Bomb Found | Miramar

09.08.2022 | 11:14 AM | MIRAMAR – A CalTrans worker was walking on the right shoulder of the on-ramp when he discovered what appears to be an old rusted pipebomb.

CHP officers took a look and immediately shut down the on-ramp from Miramar Rd.

The SDFD Bomb Squad was called out, and it appears that there is also ATF & FBI EOD personnel present.

The Courtyard by Marriot Hotel has been asked to “Shelter-in-Place”.

The Bomb Squad is working the scene now.

Miramar Rd may be shut down at any time from Kearny Villa eastwards.
