Suspected DUI Driver Slams Into Tree, Killing Passenger
INCIDENT DATE/TIME:9-13-23, 12:06 a.m.
LOCATION: 10191 Victoria Ave
CITY: Riverside
DETAILS:
- Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department responded to a single vehicle into a tree.
- When units arrived on scene, they located a truck with major front end damage, into a palm tree and two occupants in the vehicle.
- The driver was transported to a local area hospital suffering from unknown injuries.
- The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- According to police on scene, at this time it appears that the truck may have been traveling wrong way down Victoria Ave at a high rate of speed when it slammed into the tree.
- The driver of the truck is also being investigated for driving under the influence.
- Victoria Ave is a one way road and as you can see in the video, the truck is facing the opposite direction that it should have been.
- At this time it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
- Riverside Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team is assuming the investigation.
