Suspected DUI Driver Overturns Vehicle After Striking Motorist | La Mesa

04.23.2022 | 1:44 AM | LA MESA – The California Highway Patrol along with Heartland Fire-Rescue responded to a vehicle accident on the SR-125 freeway just South of Lemon Ave.

When First Responders arrived, they encountered a 2 vehicle accident, one of which was left on its side.

Both vehicles were traveling northbound when the driver of the Scion TC sideswiped the male driver of a Honda Civic.

The crash sent the Scion to crash onto its side while also shearing off the driver’s side door of the Honda Civic.

Both drivers were uninjured in the crash.

The CHP evaluated the driver for DUI and requested to perform field sobriety tests. The driver was unable to perform the tests adequately.

The male driver was ultimately given a breathalyzer test and it was determined he was under the influence at the time of the crash.

The driver was arrested without incident.
