Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Into Harris County Deputy

At approximately 12:30am on March 16th, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a traffic collision involving a marked HCSO patrol unit near Beltway 8 and Imperial Valley in Houston.

According to investigators, the deputy was traveling westbound on Beltway 8 with a green light when another driver traveling northbound on Imperial Valley collided with the patrol vehicle.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. The other driver did not appear to have any injuries.

Authorities stated the driver showed signs of intoxication and was administered field sobriety tests before being taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The crash remained under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
