Suspected Arson Leaves Anaheim Family Displaced

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on May 28, 2026, Anaheim Fire & Rescue and the Anaheim Police Department responded to a residential structure fire on Balsam Avenue in Anaheim.

Firefighters arrived to find one apartment unit heavily involved in flames and immediately began an aggressive attack to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring units.

The affected apartment, which contained three rooms, was declared a total loss.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Authorities said 10 adults and five children were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross was requested to assist those impacted.

During the investigation, police took one person into custody on suspicion of arson.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
