Suspect Shot By Police After Pulling Knife In South LA
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on May 1, 2026, officers responded to a reported burglary near 76th Street and Normandie Avenue in South Los Angeles.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and attempted to make contact. During the encounter, the suspect reportedly produced a knife.
Officers then opened fire, striking the suspect.
The individual was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities shut down Normandie Avenue between 76th and 77th Streets as the investigation was conducted.
The incident remains under investigation.
