Suspect Shot By Houston PD

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 11-18-24 / Around 9:47 pm
LOCATION: 315 Capitol St.
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

  1. HPD units responded to reports of a suspicious person with a weapon.
  2. The call was in regards to a disturbance with a security guard asking a Hispanic female to leave the premises.
  3. When officers arrived the Hispanic female walked off.
  4. The security guard told the officers were the Hispanic female walked too.
  5. Officers located that female and she was detained.
  6. A Hispanic male began to approach the officers.
  7. The officers gave verbal commands to the male to stop and show them his hands.
  8. The male did not comply with any of the commands the officers were telling him.
  9. The Hispanic male then made a sudden move towards the officers and a officer discharged his weapon more than once, striking the suspect.
  10. Officers rendered aid to the male.
  11. The male was taken by ambulance and is in critical condition.
  12. The female was also transported by ambulance for reasons unrelated to the shooting.
  13. Assist Chief would not say which part of the body the suspect was truck.
  14. They are still processing the scene and searching for any weapons.
  15. They are at the beginning stages of their investigation.
  16. The HPD officer who fired his weapon, has under two years of service with HPD.
  17. Both suspects are in their 20’s.
