Suspect Shot and Killed After Pursuit

DETAILS:
- Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to contact a man in a vehicle; while trying to make contact, the suspect fled the scene, striking one officer who sustained minor injuries
- The officers pursued the vehicle eastbound on 260th until they reached the intersection of 70th and 260th, where the suspect stopped the car and attempted to flee to a nearby house.
- A shootout occurred while the suspect was attempting to flee; no officers were hit, although the suspect was shot and killed on the scene.
