Suspect Shoots Victim With His Own Gun in Houston

At approximately 8:00pm on March 24th, 2026, Houston Police Department North Patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting near the Patriot Forest Apartments on Pinemont Drive in Houston.

According to authorities, a male victim was walking in front of the apartment complex when he was approached from behind by a younger male who assaulted him. The suspect took a firearm from the victim and then shot him in the lower leg using the victim’s own weapon.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was expected to survive.

Witnesses reported the suspect fled westbound toward a nearby gas station. Officers quickly located the suspect at a nearby convenience store, where he was found in possession of the victim’s firearm and taken into custody without further incident.

The investigation remained ongoing.
