Suspect Pulls Gun on Officer After Pursuit Crash

  1. An SDPD officer was on patrol on Dalbergia St, known for its heavy prostitution traffic, when he saw a male on a motorcycle riding recklessly.
  2. The officer attempted to pull the rider over, and the rider sped away at high speed from the officer.
  3. A pursuit thus began with the suspect going down Birch Street and crashing into a wall at Southcrest Park.
  4. As the officer pulled up and was getting out of his vehicle, the suspect reached into his waistband and started to pull out a handgun.
  5. Seeing the suspect pull the gun, the officer reached for his weapon and yelled a command at the suspect to drop the gun.
  6. The suspect then went to the ground and surrendered.
  7. The suspect was taken into custody and had minor injuries from the crash.
  8. He was not transported to a hospital.
