Suspect Leads Officers on Hourslong Pursuit | Ventura County

06.23.2021 | 1:00 AM | VENTURA COUNTY – A CHP West Valley motor unit attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on the northbound 101 Freeway near the LA / Ventura County line. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. Ventura County Sheriff units out of Newbury Park took over the pursuit as it continued north into Camarillo. CHP Ventura took the pursuit over at the the Oxnard city limit. The suspect led officers through Ventura and north on SR-33 into Oak View before coming back down to the 101 where they proceeded north. CHP Santa Barbara officers were able to spike the suspect’s vehcile on the 101 just south of La Conchita. The suspect then footbailed after crashing and ran south on the shoulder of the 101 where he was apprehended by Santa Barbara County Sheriff deputies near Seacliff.
