DETAILS:

1. A suspect fleeing from officers on foot jumped into the canal.
2. Officers requested assistance from Phoenix Fire to remove the male from the canal.
3. The officers were able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody without further incident.
4. The suspect refused medical attention.
