Suspect Arrested After SWAT Standoff in Redwood City

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 4th, 2026, Redwood City Police located a suspect connected to a series of violent crimes, including strangulation, robbery, and vehicle theft, at an apartment complex in Redwood City.

The suspect, who had reportedly fled from officers in the East Bay, barricaded inside the apartment, prompting a response from SWAT and crisis negotiators.

After a brief standoff, the suspect was taken into custody around 6:00 p.m. without further incident.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
