Suspect Arrested After Pursuit Crash of Stolen Vehicle

DETAILS:
- An SDPD officer spotted a male in a BMW illegally double parked on the 3500 block of 35th St.
- The officer pulled up behind the car, ran the license plate, and found that the BMW had been stolen.
- The driver spotted the officer and took off at a high rate of speed.
- The officer pursued, and the suspect ran several “STOP” signs, and the pursuit became a Felony Evasion.
- The suspect drove onto the 3800 block of 37th St, where he crashed into a parked car.
- The suspect fled on foot but was captured by the officer on the 3800 block of 38th St.
- Narcotics and needles were in the car and on the suspect.
- An 8″ Chefs’ knife and a Securitas security badge were on the driver-side floorboard of the BMW.
- The suspect was transported to a local hospital due to the suspicion that he was under the influence of narcotics.
- The suspect was placed under arrest on several felony charges.
