Suspect Arrested After Pursuit Crash of Stolen Vehicle

DETAILS:

 

  1. An SDPD officer spotted a male in a BMW illegally double parked on the 3500 block of 35th St.
  2. The officer pulled up behind the car, ran the license plate, and found that the BMW had been stolen.
  3. The driver spotted the officer and took off at a high rate of speed.
  4. The officer pursued, and the suspect ran several “STOP” signs, and the pursuit became a Felony Evasion.
  5. The suspect drove onto the 3800 block of 37th St, where he crashed into a parked car.
  6. The suspect fled on foot but was captured by the officer on the 3800 block of 38th St.
  7. Narcotics and needles were in the car and on the suspect.
  8. An 8″ Chefs’ knife and a Securitas security badge were on the driver-side floorboard of the BMW.
  9. The suspect was transported to a local hospital due to the suspicion that he was under the influence of narcotics.
  10. The suspect was placed under arrest on several felony charges.
