Suspect Arrested After Electric Bike Chase in National City
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1-21-26 11:10 am approx.
LOCATION: 2400 Euclid Ave & 2250 blk of Ridgeway Dr
AREA/CITY: National City & Lincoln Acres
DETAILS:
- At approx. 11:10 am, a National City Police Officer spotted a known suspect from various incidents run a “Stop” sign while riding an electric bike at a high rate of speed on Euclid Ave.
- The officer attempted to stop the male, who fled south on Euclid Ave, entered the property of the San Diego Rescue Mission, then entered a small canyon with a storm channel.
- Officers formed a perimeter and, with the help of the San Diego Police Department ABLE Helicopter, began searching for the suspect.
- He was eventually found on Ridgway Dr., where he may live.
- The male was taken into custody and started to claim medical issues, and an ambulance was called.
- The officers searched his belongings and found meth and other illegal narcotics, and a hand axe.
