Sun Valley: Fire Injures Man, Destroys Building

07.04.2020 | 2:38 AM | LOS ANGELES – A detached garage and several vehicles were destroyed after a fire that also left one man injured, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire burning in the 8700 block of Norris Avenue in the Sun Valley area around 2:38 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a detached garage with two vehicles nearby all engulfed in flames.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack but were delayed by a steel gate blocking access.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.

A civilian suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by paramedics.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but a mortar tube could be seen in close proximity to where the fire broke out.
