Sun Valley: Eight People, Including Police Officers, Hospitalized In Hazmat Incident

11.11.2019 | 10:02 | LOS ANGELES – Eight people including two police officers were hospitalized after being exposed to an unknown substance, Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a person down in side the LA Family Housing Center located in the 7800 block of Lankershim Boulevard in the Sun Valley area around 10:02 PM.

Units arriving on scene made entry and located several people suffering from unknown symptoms after being exposed to an unknown substance.

While investigating two officers from the Los Angeles Police Department also suffered symptoms after being exposed to the substance.

Firefighter paramedics treated a total of eight victims on scene before transporting them to an area hospital for treatment.

The room with the substance was contained and a hazmat team is working to identify the substance.
