Sun Valley: Driver Flees, Train Continues On After Crash

07.22.2020 | 2:40 AM | LOS ANGELES – A driver fled on foot after crashing into a train that also left the scene, early Wednesday morning.

An officer with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic division was stopped at the intersection of San Fernando Road and Sunland Boulevard in the Sun Valley area when he saw a black SUV strike a train around 2:40 AM.

The driver of the SUV fled on foot after the crash and the train continued on – likely not realizing it had been struck.

No injuries were immediately reported but officers are on scene working to locate the train and hit-and-run driver.
