Sugar Land Officer Injured During Traffic Stop
A routine traffic stop in Sugar Land escalated into a search for a fleeing suspect after a police officer was injured Monday night.
At approximately 9:50 p.m. on June 23, 2026, a Sugar Land Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the southbound lanes of State Highway 6 near the 4300 block.
According to the Sugar Land Police Department, the vehicle initially stopped and the officer made contact with the driver.
At some point during the encounter, the suspect fled the scene in the vehicle.
During the incident, the officer suffered an injury to the arm. Police have not released details regarding how the injury occurred.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, officers launched an active search for both the suspect and the suspect vehicle.
