Stolen Corvette Leads Deputies on 16-Mile Pursuit Across Houston

LOCATION: 14000 Block of Eastex Freeway to 3100 block of South Freeway

DETAILS:
- A District 2 deputy was traveling eastbound on the 14000 block of Eastex Freeway when she observed a red Corvette exiting a private drive failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
- The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the suspect evaded running multiple stop signs and red lights ensuing in a pursuit.
- The pursuit lasted approximately 16 miles and ended when the suspects vehicle sustained engine damage causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop at the 3100 block of south freeway.
- The 42 year old male suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.
- The suspect nor deputies sustained any injuries.
- No damages to any county vehicle were reported during the incident.
- No damage to any civilian vehicles during pursuit
