Stolen Corvette Leads Deputies on 16-Mile Pursuit Across Houston

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1-28-26 7:55pm
LOCATION: 14000 Block of Eastex Freeway to 3100 block of South Freeway
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

  1. A District 2 deputy was traveling eastbound on the 14000 block of Eastex Freeway when she observed a red Corvette exiting a private drive failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic.
  2. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the suspect evaded running multiple stop signs and red lights ensuing in a pursuit.
  3. The pursuit lasted approximately 16 miles and ended when the suspects vehicle sustained engine damage causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop at the 3100 block of south freeway.
  4. The 42 year old male suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.
  5. The suspect nor deputies sustained any injuries.
  6. No damages to any county vehicle were reported during the incident.
  7. No damage to any civilian vehicles during pursuit
