Spring: Firefighters Resuscitate Woman After Fire

12.18.2018 | 10:30 PM | SPRING – A woman who was found unconscious authorities responded to a small fire was revived by firefighters, Tuesday night.

Firefighters responded to reports of a kitchen fire at an apartment in the 1600 block of Springwood Plaza Drive around 10:30 PM.

Units arriving on scene found light smoke showing from a 6th flood apartment and forced entry inside where they discovered food on fire and a woman down.

Crews immediately extinguished the fire and began providing medical aid to the woman who reportedly had no pulse.

Firefighter paramedics performing CPR and other life-saving measures where able to revive the woman before transporting her to an area hospital where she was hospitalized.

Authorities investigating determined the fire was caused by unattended cooking.

It was unclear if the woman lost consciousness before or after the cooking fire.
