South Whittier: Suspect Wanted After Shooting Man In Head

10.05.2019 | 5:15 PM | SOUTH WHITTIER – A man was injured after being shot in his head by a suspect who remains at large, Saturday evening.

Authorities responding to reports of a shooting attempted to stop a vehicle that may have been involved near the intersection of Louis Avenue and Leffingwell Road around 5:15 PM.

The driver of the vehicle initially fled from officers before stopping in front of a home and running inside.

Inside officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in critical condition.

A large crime scene was established while authorities worked to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

No suspect description or motive was immediately available.
