South Whittier: Shooting At Home Leaves Man Injured

05.24.2020 | 4:50 PM | SOUTH WHITTIER – A man was injured after being being shot at a home, Sunday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 13100 block of Rainier Avenue around 4:50 PM.

Units arriving on scene found multiple shell casings littered in the middle of the street and learned that a man had been struck by gunfire and rushed to Whittier PIH Hospital by his brother.

Firefighter paramedics responded to Whittier PIH and transported the victim to USC Medical Center due to the extent of his injuries.

Deputies cordoned off the scene of the shooting while they investigated.

Initial reports indicate a black sedan occupied by four males fled the scene shortly after the shooting.
