South Whittier: Large Fire Engulfs Home

08.13.2019 | 12:21 AM | SOUTH WHITTIER – A raging fire destroyed a couple’s home and car, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 11200 block of Arroyo Drive around 12:21 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a single-story home engulfed in flames and began efforts to attack the blaze.

It took just over 30 minutes for firefighters to get control of the flames which destroyed the home and a car.

The residents of the home, a couple and their two dogs, escaped without injury.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
